The Drill Team Booster Club met on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 6:15 a.m. at the Community Center.  Present were MaryAnne Decker, Alyse Hunter, Brenda Moore, Ashlynn Rosa and Bobbie Jo Vastine.

 

Voted and elected officers.   Officers for 2008/2009 school year are: President: Brenda Moore; Vice President: Kellee Curran; Treasurer: Alyse Hunter; Secretary: MaryAnne Decker

 

Treasurer Report:  Books are still being audited.  An update will be given at the next Booster Club Meeting.

 

Bobbie Jo indicated she is in the process of continuing to update the website.  The HyVee Inventory schedule and the Parent Volunteer information are complete and will be posted on the website in the near future.

 

Discussed possible fundraising activities.  Anyone who has any ideas for fundraising, please email Bobbie Jo. 

 

Bobbie Jo has requested everyone submit summer school activity and vacation schedules to her.  She and Ashlynn are in the process of scheduling summer practices and will do their best to schedule the practices around planned vacations and school commitments.  Please get those to her as soon as possible.

 

Upcoming events discussed:

  -- Independence Day Celebration.  Drill Team will be performing on the 4th of July, time yet to be determined.  They will also be marching in the parade.  Additional information will be relayed at a later time.

  -- MA Camp.  Rooms have been reserved for the girls at the Marriott, checking in on Thursday, July 17, and checking out on Saturday, July 19.  Brenda will be coordinating drivers to transport the girls to camp on Thursday and home on Saturday. 

  -- Relay for Life.  It was discussed and decided that the Drill Team will be performing at this event on August 1.  More information will be given at a later time.

 

Discussed uniforms for Camp and July 4th and t-shirts for Junior Drill Team.  Bobbie Jo and Ashlynn will go through what is in stock to decide what the girls will be wearing for these events.  New t-shirts will be ordered for the Junior Drill Team performances and Bobbie Jo has contacted McKinley for a design for this t-shirt.

 

The next Drill Team Booster Club meeting will be on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at 6:15 a.m. at the Community Center.  At this meeting we will be finalizing plans for the 4th of July and MA Dance Camp.
